Kidney stones and home remedies

Kidney stones are hard deposits that form in the kidneys.  These are the crystallized minerals and salts and that can be due to the kidney stones commonly calcium oxalate. Kidney stones are called urolithiasis and calculi. Dehydration is the chief contributor toward stone formation. When body is dehydrated, fluids move slowly and mineral and salts chances increased to come closer and stick together. When these stones pass on they cause severe pain and require medical attention.  Kidney stones, if they’re large enough, may cause tearing and pain, some even block urine flow (1)

 Home Remedies for Kidney Stones

 Water

Drinking water is one of the easiest ways to prevent and treat kidney stones. Most health authorities recommend drinking 64 ounces (oz) or eight glasses of water per day. Drinking 12 glasses per day may help ease the passage or slow the growth of deposits in the kidneys.

Lemon Juice:

The combination of lemon juice, olive oil and raw paper cider vinegar is one of the most effective remedy for kidney stones. At first symptoms of kidney pain, mixture of 2 ounces lemon juice and 2 ounces olive oil should be taken (2). After this drink follow with 12 ounces purified water glass. Wait 30 minutes and then squeeze ½ lemons into 12 ounces water glass and add 1 table spoon of raw apple cider vinegar and drink. Repeat every hour until symptoms disappear.

Uva Ursi

Uva ursi is a common remedy for kidney stones. According to some studies, 500mg is recommended for kidney stones three times a day (3).

Dandelion root

Taking a 300 mg twice a day may be beneficial. Organic dandelion root is to clean the kidneys and spport normal kidneys (4).

Kidney Beans

The beans shape reminds us of its healing potential for kidney. Kidney beans are excellent source of magnesium which reduces the symptoms related with kidney stones (5). Traditionally the pods wereused as a medicinal tonic (6).

Pomegranate Juice

We all know about the benefits of pomegrant on our health. But more specifically their seeds snd juice can be considered as natural remedy for kidney stones (7).
